UXMAL & KABAH – “THREE TIMES BUILT”
UXMAL is located in a hilly region known as the “Puuc” region, a Mayan word for “mountain range” later given to the distinctive architectonic style of the archaeological sites in the region. The most representative example of this style: the “Governor’s House” and “Temple of the Wizard”, 35 m. high, considered by experts as architectonic marvel for their precise construction and beauty.
KABAH this is the second largest site in the Puuc region. At its peak around 800 A.D. Kabáh played a major part in the development of the Puuc region. It was connected to Uxmal by a Sacbé of 18 kilometers. This “white road” starts at the beautiful Arch of Kabáh.
